“The immense, rambling complex of Castle Xyntillan has stood in its mountain valley for many years. Built over several generations, it has now been deserted by its former owners, and left to time and the elements. However, that is not the end of the story, for Xyntillan’s fabulous treasures and Machiavellian deathtraps continue to fascinate the fortune-seekers of a dozen lands – and never mind the ghost stories!”

Campaign Overview
I am a player in an ongoing campaign hosted at the Round Rock Public Library. With regular attendance of between 20-30 players, the campaign relies on multiple volunteer Dungeon Masters, each running a game loosely connected to a larger setting. Players are able to drop in and out of individual tables so that they can try different games and play with different groups and Dungeon Masters.
One of the volunteer DMs is running Castle Xyntillan, which nicely fits into this style of play. Castle Xyntillan is a funhouse-style mega-dungeon published by E.M.D.T. ULTRAREALITY Publishing. The module falls squarely in the Old School Revival/Renaissance method of play, and evokes many of the tropes associated with that era of gaming.
As one of the more experienced players at the table, I've taken to organizing my notes as an on-going journal from the perspective of my character. Practically, this is to keep the information within reach of players, since the information will exist in the game world. Impractically, I just think it's a fun thing to do!
